Professional Work | In Collaboration With STP Consulting (Under Construction) [Karaj - Iran - 2015 - present]
Karaj River is the main water resource for both cities of Tehran and Karaj. The main goal of this project is to revitalize the surrounding area of this river across its path to Tehran. The site of the project is located between the old gardens of Kalak in the east, juxtaposing the new subway line, an existing highway infrastructure connecting Tehran and Karaj in the south, and existing construction site of Hemmat highway in the north part.
Karaj municipality, as the main client, had the idea to use Karaj river’s water during all seasons. However, our goal was to create new natural ecosystem as well as expanding the existing old gardens. This green belt would create transitional entrance/exit from the city of Karaj to Kalak gardens.
The defined activities in this project were based on the local users and their demands, including sport fields for both elderly and children, cultural center with a 150 seat amphitheater, Persian garden, public piazza, viewing points, and monumental tower as the symbols of Karaj.
